Lonzo Ball's longterm future with the Los Angeles Lakers is in doubt

After a tough first season in the NBA, Lonzo Ball has shown flashes of All-Star potential during his second year, although doubts persist over his long term future with the Lakers organization. Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, Magic Johnson declared the then-teenaged Ball as the future face of the franchise. However, LeBron James' arrival quickly put a spanner in the works.

The Lakers have also attempted to trade Ball away this season, as they included the 21-year-old in their failed offer to acquire Anthony Davis from the Pelicans. The Lakers are also expected to target a new point-guard this summer, and if a deal for Anthony once again fails, the Lakers could opt to include Ball in other trade discussions.

Nevertheless, as one of the NBA's most promising young player's, Ball will still receive considerable interest, and here are three of the teams that could make a move.

#3 Chicago Bulls

Due to mounting injuries and a lack of depth, Zach LaVine has been tasked with playing as the Bulls' point guard for much of 2019. The 24-year-old had previously spent his NBA career playing shooting guard, although the former Timberwolves man has been impressive as Chicago's chief creator.

With that said, LaVine remains a superior shooter, and the Bulls are believed to want him to return him to his more familiar role. In order to do this, the franchise will need to add a specialist point guard, and the Bulls seem to be a good destination for Ball, as he would play a major role on one of the NBA's biggest teams.

As things stand, the Bulls don't have many assets to get a deal done, although the Lakers could actively shop Ball if they land Kyrie Irving.
