"Me and Book would've been a nice backcourt" – Kings star player admits he was unwilling to be a part of Suns during his draft year, says he later imagined himself and Devin Booker as a solid duo for franchise

Sacramento Kings star De'Aaron Fox had some interesting things to say about possibly playing with Devin Booker. Had he been drafted by Phoenix, there is a good chance that he would have teamed up with Booker.

In a recent interview on "The Draymond Green" podcast, Fox spoke about how he almost ended up in Phoenix.

It would be interesting to see the two play together, but the Phoenix Suns could have also drafted Luka Doncic. A backcourt comprising Doncic and Booker would undoubtedly be one of the best and the Suns will look back at as a missed opportunity.

Fox had the following to say about the situation:

"I knew Boston was going to take JT and then there was Phoenix. And Phoenix at the time had just gave, they just gave Brandon Knight like 80 million. Bledsoe is on a crazy deal. I'm like I don't want to do that so I canceled my workout... me and Devin Booker would've been a nice backcourt."

Devin Booker and De'Aaron Fox as possible teammates

It's interesting to hear De'Aaron Fox speak about the teamup because it's certainly true that him and Devin Booker would have definitely formed one of the best backcourt duos in the NBA.

As we saw in the early parts of Devin Booker's career, he definitely needed some help with the Phoenix Suns for them to be a competitive team. The first year that he got somebody to help him out with Chris Paul, he took his team to the NBA Finals and the second year they had the best record in the NBA.

Perhaps if he did have somebody like De'Aaron Fox for his entire career, he wouldn't have had to deal with all that criticism that he received during the first couple of years of his career.

Some threw shade at him by calling him just an empty stats guy, but Devin Booker has completely killed that narrative and has proven to be a guy who can win a championship as the number one option.

Phoenix Suns Season Overview

Both the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns will have an interesting season this year. Phoenix is likely going to make another championship push this year, while the Kings might make the playoffs for the first time in years. Both teams are going to be successful this year because of both of these guys.

Let's see what they can do together on different teams, but maybe one day, they could end up on the same court together in Phoenix or Sacramento. De'Aaron Fox could eventually become unhappy with what's going on in Sacramento, but they've also shown improvements recently.

Devin Booker is hopeful that he can get past last season's loss to the Dallas Mavericks and help his Phoenix Suns team get back to the same position that they were in last year. The Suns are once again one of the better teams in the league and have an opportunity to go further than last season.
