NBA 2018-19: Predicted Starting Lineups and Match Prediction - San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are coming off a blowout win against the Los Angeles Lakers and will now host the San Antonio Spurs at the Oracle Arena.
The last time these two teams met was in November when the Spurs defeated the Dubs by as many as 12 points. However, a lot has changed since then and this matchup is expected to be exciting.
Golden State Warriors' perspective
The Warriors were on a winning spree before the Sixers ended it handing them a tough loss. However, with an easy win against the Lakers at home, the Warriors are definitely aiming for another winning streak and the game against the Spurs will give them a chance to further push themselves in that direction.
DeMarcus Cousins hasn't had any problem adjusting with the Warriors' offence and has been really impressive in the seven games that he has played so far. The center is averaging 14.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in just about 23 minutes per game.
The Warriors are at the top of the Western Conference Standings at 37-15 but the Denver Nuggets are not far behind at 37-16. A win here will further widen the gap between these two conference powerhouses.
Predicted Golden State Warriors' starting line-up
Draymond Green (F), Kevin Durant (F), DeMarcus Cousins (C), Klay Thompson (G) and Stephen Curry (G)
San Antonio Spurs' perspective
The San Antonio Spurs won five straight games before the Sacramento Kings ended their streak. At 32-23, they find themselves at the sixth spot in West and are expected to make it to the playoffs.
However, they have major injury concerns and lost a couple of really good players due to the same reason. Their All-Star DeMar DeRozan himself has been in and out several times this year and last night, it was announced that he will not play against the Warriors due to load management purposes. LaMarcus Aldridge will also miss the game for rest purposes.
Predicted San Antonio Spurs' starting line-up
Rudy Gay (F), Davis Bertans (F), Jakob Poeltl (C), Derrick White (G) and Bryn Forbes (G)
How the things might unfold
The San Antonio Spurs will be without two of their All-Stars and they are also the reason why the Spurs are in playoffs contention.
They are expected to struggle against the stacked Warriors. However, the Spurs have always been known for their never give up attitude and whoever wears that Spurs jersey fights till the end.
Prediction
Warriors for the blowout win.
