NBA 2019-20: Ranking the Top 10 Power Forwards entering into the new season

The meaning and role of the position of power forward has completely transformed over the past decade. Before, Power Forwards were known for being big men who were slightly shorter or weaker than Centers.

Nowadays, teams have two small forwards and then select the bigger or more versatile player to start at PF. However, there still remain a few players at PF who have kept the 2010-15 skills and adapted to the new attributes required to play at the position over the last four years. #10 Aaron Gordon

During his time in the league, Gordon has slowly developed into a slightly worse version of Blake Griffin. This is because in terms of his athleticism, size, versatility and all-around offensive skills, Gordon has many similarities to Griffin. He averaged 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists per game last season.

However, in order to help the Magic grow further, he must become more consistent as he has often gone missing in important games. In fact, he is no longer the best player on the team as Vucevic was Orlando's lone All-Star last season.

#9 Paul Millsap

Whilst Paul Millsap may be aging, his skill level and experience is very valuable to the Nuggets, therefore the team exercised his $30 million team option. His defensive ability and all-around offensive contributions mean that along with superstar Center Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets have one of the best big-men combinations in the NBA.

Millsap will play a crucial role in determining whether the Denver Nuggets will be able to contend against the likes of the LA Clippers, the Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets next season.
