Washington Wizards beat San Antonio Spurs in second meeting

The Washington Wizards beat the San Antonio Spurs 138-132 in their second meeting this season.
The Wizards trailed through the first half of the game, before making a comeback and beating the Spurs by 6 points. The two teams had earlier met in their 3rd game at San Antonio, with the Wizards losing in heartbreaking fashion by the score of 124-122.
On that note, here is an analysis of the Wizards' win.
Beal stays hot

This is becoming a bit of a norm, as All-Star Bradley Beal yet again produced a tremendous performance. Beal scored 33 points and went 14-24 FG, 2-2 FT, 3-7 3PT, while adding 4 rebounds and 4 assists. He played 38 minutes tonight, the most out of the whole team.
Head coach Scott Brooks gave Beal a lot of minutes last season too, so it isn't a big surprise. It likely means he heavily trusts Beal, but this could take a toll on his energy in the long run. Brooks should give the other guys some chances as well.
Bertans takes revenge, again

It seems like forward Davis Bertans wants the Spurs to know what a big mistake they made by letting him go and not re-signing him. In the first meeting between the Wizards and the Spurs, Bertans dropped 23 points. In last night's game, he dropped 21 points and went 7-11 FG, 3-3 FT, and 4-7 3PT. On top of that, he had 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
Bertans certainly has his ups and downs, and is not a consistent performer when coming off the bench. But his signing has certainly excited Wizards fans.
Ish Smith comes off the bench, scoring 21

That's right; point guard Ish Smith scored 21 points coming off the bench. This is his new season-high, after scoring 19 points in the first meeting against the Spurs. It seems like there is some sort of pattern for players scoring high points in two meetings.
Smith went 9-12 FG, 0-1 FT and 3-4 3PT. But don't expect him to be this efficient and to score high every game; it will likely be a once-every-few-weeks thing.
What's next?
The Wizards will play the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, as part of their three-home-game stretch. Tune in at 7:00 PM ET.
