NBA 2K17 ratings: Players with the highest overall ratings
With NBA Live not coming out with a new game this year, NBA 2K17 will be the only licensed basketball game this year. The game releases on PS4 and Xbox One in 2 weeks’ time. Along with this, MyNBA2k mobile app and ‘The Prelude’ will release in a few days.
The cover-star of NBA 2K17 is Paul George in the standard edition, and Kobe Bryant featuring in the Legend edition. The famous story mode of NBA 2K will feature Michael B. Jordan.
Even though the game is two weeks away from its’ release, NBA lovers can start playing the game by the end of this week, thanks to ‘The Prelude’. The Prelude can be downloaded for free on PS4 and Xbox One.
The mode incorporates elements from NBA 2K10‘s ‘Draft Combine’ with the college element from NBA 2K16, and helps the gamer to build their NBA Draft Stock through college games. Additionally, the My Career mode of NBA 2K is FIFA’s inspiration for ‘The Journey’ mode.
The Prelude is a bit different from ‘My Career’ though. Gamers will only have one opportunity to make things works, and winding up as a second-round pick will end your chances. This is a one-time attempt with your first player.
You can start your career in 10 schools: Oklahoma, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Wake Forest, UConn, Louisville, Arizona, Georgetown and Kansas, and work your way to the top. Unfortunately, PC users have to wait for the original game to come out, as The Prelude will not release on Steam.
Another new feature of the game is the ‘Contested’ shooting categories. In the earlier NBA 2K games, shot types were categorized into ‘standing’ and ‘moving’. 2K17 has changed this to ‘Open’, ‘Contested’ and ‘Moving’.

LeBron started NBA 2K16 as the highest rated player but was overtaken by Stephen Curry mid-season. Curry was in exceptional form but suffered a dip in form late into the season. He will lose 2 rating points, and drop to 94.
The Golden State Warriors have achieved a unique feat by having the highest-rated roster ever in the history of NBA, according to 2K Sports. The Warriors have 4 players with a 90+ rating and this team is rated higher than the legendary 1995-96 Chicago Bulls side.
It will be interesting to see if the Warrior players perform based on their ratings this season and snatch the title away from the Cavs.
