NBA Aaj Kal Highlights: 31 Oct, 2012

Keep up with the video highlights of everyday’s action right here with NBA Aaj Kal:

Indiana Pacers 90-88  Toronto Raptors

Roy Hibbert had 14 points and 9 rebounds in this contest. With score tied at 88, Indiana missed a long jumper but the rebound was called going off the hands of Jose Calderon of the Raptors. The Pacers took the lead on the ensuing possession on a George Hill floater.

Denver Nuggets 75-84  Philadelphia 76ers

Andre Igoudala was booed very loud in the PA introductions. Coming back to his former team’s arena, the city of brotherly love showed no love to their old swingman, unlike another AI who received standing ovations when he came back to the Sixers. Stephen Hawes had 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots in this game. For Denver, Ty Lawson scored 16 with 7 assists. Andrew Bynum did not suit up but the Sixers still took this one.

Houston Rockets 105-96 Detroit Pistons

Harden has just signed a max contract with the Rockets, and he justified it with 19 first half points, finishing with 37. Omer Asik added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks for the Pistons. The Rockets were down by 10 in the 3rd quarter, but fought back to win it. With the Rockets leading by 6 and 1:29 left, Harden drove in past the entire Pistons team and dropped in a layup to put the game away. Harden also had 12 assists. Talk about proving your worth. Being unshackled by not having to play in the shadow of Durant and Westbrook gives Harden room to do more of this in the coming days with his new team.

San Antonio Spurs 99-95 New Orleans Hornets

In Anthony Davis’ debut, Tim Duncan gave him a welcome to the league with 23 points and 11 rebounds to the 21 and 7 of the rookie. The game was close all the way, tied at 77 in the fourth. Tony Parker scored 23 points including a clutch three-pointer to in the waning minutes to help put it away. Hornets had a chance to tie with a three but they missed it.

LA Lakers 106-116 Portland Trailblazers

The Lakers came into the game riding on a 11 game losing streak, which the Blazers extended to 12. Dwight Howard finished strong with 33 points and 14 rebounds. Steve Nash had a collision and left the game early with a leg injury. Batum had 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the Blazers.

Dallas Mavericks 94-113 Utah Jazz

Dareen Collision had 17 points and 7 assists for the Mavs. Quite a lot of missed defensive assignments from Dallas in this one leading to easy baskets for Utah. Randy Foye added 13 for the Jazz. Mo Williams led the way for the Jazz with 21 points and 6 assists as they bested the Nowitzki-less Mavs.

LA Clippers 101-92 Memphis Grizzlies

The Clippers and the Grizzlies have a bitter rivalry going. There’s no other team Memphis dislikes more at the moment than the Clippers, after last season’s playoffs, when the Clippers bested the Grizzlies in 7 games including one where they set the record for the biggest comeback in the 4th quarter by a playoff team. New addition Jamaal Crawford scored 29 points in 30 minutes to lead the Clippers. Blake Griffin had his usual dunk fest and the Grizzlies made some hard fouls on him. Chris Paul had 12 assists. Rudy Gay dropped 25 and Marc Gasol added 20 for the Grizzlies.
