NBA Action Highlights - 30 January 2013

We bring you action from four games today. The Mavericks-Blazers match was the highlight of the night with a frenzied finish on display. The Golden State Warriors continue to prove that they are a team to reckon with, even without fielding three starters they still managed to win. Check out the highlights -

Golden State Warriors 108 – Cleveland Cavaliers 95

Steph Curry sat out this one with an injured right ankle for the Warriors. For the Cavaliers, Irving was coming off an illness and couldn’t help the Cavaliers win this one. Klay Thompson scored a career-high 32 points and the Warriors, playing without Bogut, Landry, Curry and Barnes beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-95. Jarrett Jack had 26 points and 12 assists, stepping up in the absence of the stars.

Milwaukee Bucks 117 – Detroit Pistons 90

The Pistons have beaten the Bucks twice this season already; the Bucks took one today. They let Jennings score 20 of his 30 points in the third quarter as the Bucks cruised to a 117-90 victory over the Detroit Pistons. Remember he had a 55 point game as a rookie? Jennings can heat up in a hurry and lay waste to teams from outside.

Portland Trail Blazers 106 – Dallas Mavericks 104

The Portland Trail Blazers came back from a 21-point third-quarter deficit to beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-104. It was 96-94 with a few minutes left in favour of Dallas, but Collison hit a hail Mary three pointer to push it up. In clutch time, Dirk Nowitzki hit a jumper to make it 104-101 with 11 seconds left. Then Batum tied the game with a three pointer and OJ Mayo of the Mavericks was called for a charge on the next possession giving an edge to the Blazers to win it. LaMarcus Aldridge calmly sunk in a turnaround jumper to win this one for the Blazers.

Los Angeles Lakers 111 – New Orleans Hornets 106

Hope you saw this one on TV. Quite a contest, it could have gone either way. Earl Clark was a delightful surprise, although I still maintain that Pau Gasol ought to be starting. Here’s a recap of this contest. Dwight Howard scored 24 points, Bryant had 14 points and 11 assists in another pass-first performance, and the Lakers hung on to beat New Orleans 111-106 in spite of an impassioned fight by the Hornets.

Check out the first assist in this highlight. That is ‘Kobe Johnson’.
