NBA: Heat beat Pacers 99-76 in Game 7 to reach the finals
Miami Heat stormed into the NBA finals for a third consecutive season as they beat Indiana Pacers 99-76 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference series on Monday night. LeBron James‘s performance was the highlight of the match as he scored 32 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Dwyane Wade, with his first 20-point game since April 23, matched his postseason high with 21 points.
“They’re just an amazing group of guys. They’ve given us an incredible season so far, but it’s a long way from over,” said the Heat managing general partner Micky Arison.
LeBron James, who is now 7 points away from tying Magic Johnson for 11th place on all-time postseason scoring list, said: “By any means necessary … we took care of business,”
It was Miami’s night as they were seen dominate the whole game. The total score at the halftime was 52-37, with James having scored 18 points with, Bosh and Wade combining for 17 and Allen adding 10 more.
James shook the retired football star David Beckham’s hand as made his way on the the bench with 5:08 still left on the clock.
“We’ll enjoy this,” Spoelstra said, “for a short period of time.”
The NBA Finals begin on Thursday in Miami.
