Through consistent play, the usual candidates to win the NBA Most Improved Player of the Year award are still in the race. At this time, there are other players who have joined the mix and have shown exceptional play.
In this edition of the NBA's Most Improved Player of the Year power rankings, there are new possible candidates that could sneak their way in to win the award. However, that does not mean others have no chance at winning.

Markkanen and SGA are the top candidates to win the Most Improved Player of the Year award this season. Given their consistency, it's likely that one of them will end the season with the award.
