NBA: Tony Parker extends contract with Spurs

Washington, Aug 2 (IANS) French guard Tony Parker has extended his contract with NBA side, the San Antonio Spurs.

Under club policy, the terms of the contract were not announced, reports Xinhua.

Parker had spent all his 13 years in NBA as a Spurs player, since he was brought into the team as the 28th pick in 2001 NBA draft.  Parker is the fifth Spur to re-sign with the team during the offseason.

The team also signed Patty Mills, Boris Diaw and Matt Bonner and coach Gregg Popovich to extensions. Averaging 18.9 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds, Parker helped the Spurs win four NBA titles.

Parker expressed his happiness on twitter.
