10 NBA players averaging 30+ points this season

The 2022/23 NBA season is in the middle of Week 2, and several players have already stood out with their all-around performances.

From Giannis Antetokounmpo to Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic, some of the top NBA players have gotten off to a great start offensively.

In this article, we present 10 NBA players that average 30+ points following Sunday's (10/30) games.

#1 - Luka Doncic

The Dallas Mavericks superstar guard leads the way in scoring with 36.7 points per game. Doncic stays on the floor for almost 37 minutes. He is shooting at 50.3% from the field and 22.6% from beyond the arc.

He is also averaging 10.8 rebounds and 9.4 assists per game. He is the Mavs' undisputed leader (3-3 record) and one of the favorites to win the NBA MVP award.

#2 - Giannis Antetokounmpo

The "Greek Freak" has been unstoppable so far. He has been in beast mode in the first five games with the Milwaukee Bucks, helping his team remain the only undefeated team in the NBA (5-0).

Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 34.4 points, on 60.4% shooting from the field and 35.3% from three. He spends 34.4 minutes on the floor and also has 14 boards and 5.8 assists per game.

#3 - Ja Morant

The Memphis Grizzlies superstar guard has been impressive early on, as he is averaging 32.6 points, on 52.9% from the field and an excellent 56.5% from the perimeter.

He has led the Grizzlies to a 4-2 record, good for seventh in the Western Conference, while averaging 4.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 32.8 minutes on the floor.

#4 - Donovan Mitchell

The newly-acquired Cleveland Cavaliers guard is playing at an All-Star level in his first six appearances with the franchise.

With 32.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists, on 49.6% from the field and 45.5% from beyond the arc. he has led the Cavs to a five-game winning streak and a 5-1 record in the East.

He is also coming off 41- and 38-point performances over the last two Cavs games against the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks, respectively.

#5 - Kevin Durant

After a turbulent NBA offseason, Kevin Durant is back and has his sights set on making the Brooklyn Nets a legit title contender.

He is averaging 32 points on 51.2% from the field and 31.3% from beyond the arc on 37.5 minutes on the floor.

Despite his stellar play so far, the Nets have made a rough start and are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with an 1-5 record, having lost their last four games.

#6 - Trae Young

The Atlanta Hawks are coming off an early NBA playoff exit after losing to the Miami Heat in five games in the opening round. This year, they want to return to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in three years.

With the addition of All-Star guard Dejounte Murray, they have re-emerged as contenders in the East. They are fully aware, though, that Trae Young will determine how far they go this season.

So far, Young has delivered for his team, averaging 31.5 points and 9.7 asists, on 41% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. Hence, he has led the Hawks to fourth in the East, at 4-2.

#7 - Damian Lillard

It's Dame Time again in Portland, and the Blazers are on top of the NBA Western Conference with a 5-1 record.

After season-ending abdominal surgery, Damian Lillard is back. He is healthy and is leading the way for the Blazers so far, with 31 points per game, on 49.5% from the field and 39.2% from three.

Despite his calf injury, which will keep him out for one to two weeks, Lillard is expected to be at his very best upon his return in early November.

#8 - Shai Gildeous-Alexander

The young Oklahoma City Thunder star has led his team to a great start, given the low expectations before the start of the season.

The Thunder are 3-3 after their first six games, with impressive victories over NBA Western Conference contenders like the LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks.

For his part, Shai Gildeous-Alexander has averages of 31 points, on 49.6% from the field and 36.8% from beyond the arc. He also has 5.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game in 36.6 minutes on the floor.

#9 - Stephen Curry

The four-time NBA champion leads the way for the Golden State Warriors, who struggled early on, winning just three of their first seven games (3-4).

Curry is averaging 31 points, on 47% from the field and 39.5% from beyond the arc, along with 6.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists.

#10 - Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum is off to a hot start with the Boston Celtics as he wants to lead his team to a second-straight NBA Finals appearance.

He is averaging 30.8 points per game, on 55.7% from the field and 40.8% from beyond the arc, along with 7.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Tatum has led Boston to third place in the East with a 4-2 record.
