NBA Playoffs: Thomas' 42 points helps Celtics pull one back;Spurs continue their march
1.Cleveland Cavaliers 101-90 Detroit Pistons
Led by Kyrie Irving and LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers made it 3-0 in the NBA Playoffs against Detroit Pistons, defeating 101-90 on their home turf on Friday night.
Irving contributed a significant 26 points on the night while James and Kevin Love netted 20 points each to lead the 2015 runners-up to a 3rd win. For the home side, it was Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who delivered the standout performance of the night, scoring 18 points and was well-supported by Marcus Morris with 16 points.
However, despite those exploits they couldn't prevent their side from going down in the contest.
2.Boston Celtics 111-103 Atlanta Hawks
You really got to wonder what Isiah Thomas would have had during the day to put in a performance like that. A staggering 42 points on the night meant that the Celtics always had the upper hand in the contest against the Hawks on home turf on Friday night.
It was an almost one-man show as none of his teammates could score even half as much as him as the Celtics pulled one back to make it 1-2 in the series.
Jeff Teague was the star for the Hawks, netting 23 points. Al Horford was also totally off the boil on the night, with just 8 points.
3.San Antonio Spurs 96-87 Memphis Grizzlies
Kawhi Leonard was the star for the Spurs with 32 points as they took a 3-0 lead against the Grizzlies on Friday night. LaMarcus Aldridge netted half the points as his teammate, providing some good support.
Zach Randolph contributed 20 points on the night and despite some good support from Matt Barnes with 17 points, couldn’t prevent his team from going 3-0 in the series.
