NBA Rumor: Knicks preparing move for John Wall
What's the rumor?
According to a new report, the New York Knicks are planning on making a move for John Wall of the Washington Wizards. The report claims that the Knicks are interested in acquiring the 28-year-old this season, although any move for Wall would require a third team to complete the trade.
In case you didn't know...
John Wall is a 5-time All-Star who is viewed as one of the best point guards in the entire league. The 28-year-old was chosen with the first pick in the 2010 draft after playing one year of college hoops for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Wall has spent his entire career with the Washington Wizards, however, the team has not been able to make a serious push for a Championship with the former Kentucky man, and this has led to recent reports that the franchise would finally be willing to trade the point-guard in favor of launching a rebuild.
The heart of the matter
John Wall is one of the premier point guards in the NBA, and he would be a huge signing for the New York Knicks. The Knicks currently sit 12th in the Eastern Conference and the addition of a player who is currently averaging 22.1 points, 8.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game would be a huge statement of the Knicks intent. The franchise has also been linked with a summer move for Kevin Durant, so Wall himself could have a real shot at challenging for the title next season. This looks like a good deal for both parties.
