NBA Rumors: Jabari Parker is interested in a potential return to the Milwaukee Bucks
What's the news?
Jabari Parker will face off against as his former team on Wednesday night as the Atlanta Hawks take on the Milwaukee Bucks. Parker spent the first four seasons of his career with the Bucks, and the 24-year-old told ESPN that he would welcome a future return to the franchise -
It's real special, man, how they were able to build this building. I haven't played here, but just seeing like the growth of the city, I really like the way that it's developing. I would never rule out a possible return here. I would never do that. It's just so sad how it ended and I wish I could've stayed.
In case you didn't know...
Parker was selected by the Bucks with the second overall pick in the 2014 draft, and the forward made 183 appearances over a four-year span, averaging 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. However, Parker's minutes were down during his final season with the team, and the Bucks refused to match the Chicago Bulls' offer of a two-year, $40 million contract back in the 2018 offseason.
Following a poor start to the season, the Bulls quickly traded Parker to Washington, and after he failed to start a game with the Wizards - the forward opted to join the Atlanta Hawks in free agency. With the Hawks, Parker has finally found some stability and is so far this season averaging 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.
The heart of the matter
Parker has started the season well, and it is worth noting that he has a player option for the 2020-21 season. However, the Bucks were not willing to pay a significant amount of money to retain him back in 2018, and it remains to be seen if they will be willing to match Parker's salary demands.
What's next?
Parker will be in action later tonight as the Bucks take on the Hawks.
