NBA Rumours: Lakers are not trading Lonzo Ball for now
Los Angeles Lakers have improved to 16-10 for the season after the victory against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.
LeBron James has been producing big numbers back to back and has led this young Lakers team from the front. He scored 20 points against the Grizzlies, supported by Kyle Kuzma who collected 20 of his. Kuzma's improving form is an excellent sign for the Lakers team and fans.
However, Lonzo Ball scored just 4 points and collected two assists, playing for 23 minutes in the game. He is currently averaging 8.2 points and 4.8 assists for the season.
Due to these inefficient performances, there have been talks about his trade lately. He was recently connected to a rumor which brought John Wall to the Lakers and sent him to Washington.
However, according to the latest report by Ben Stinar Of Amico Hoops, Lonzo Ball is not available in of the trade talks.
According to the report, Lakers are aiming for Anthony Davis this summer to play alongside LeBron. However, Lonzo Ball is not involved in any of the trade talks for now.
If we look at the situation closely, Lakers need to bring another superstar alongside James because the Young Lakers team is very inconsistent and lacks composure. They are no way a championship team. If they want to be the biggest threat around, they need to get another scorer around James.
The idea of Anthony Davis in lakers' jersey seems a possible future for now, and if that has to happen, then young core has to be sacrificed. Lonzo Ball is a great playmaker and has been improving in defense lately but is he worth keeping?
For now, Lakers might let the games go with the flow, but in coming months they have to make some harsh decisions.
