NBA Trade Rumors: 3 players that will stay with the Orlando Magic ahead of the trade deadline
The NBA trade market has recently kicked into full gear ahead of the impending trade deadline on February 7th.
The week started out with Anthony Davis requesting to be traded away from the team that he has spent his entire career with, and this major news was quickly followed by the Knicks' monumental trade with the Dallas Mavericks. The trade resulted in the previously untouchable Kristaps Porzingis leaving the team, while former All-Stars including DeAndre Jordan were also part of the deal.
More huge deals are expected in the coming days, and the Orlando Magic are likely to be among the teams that are active in the market. The Magic have lost seven out of their last ten games, and this point, they look unlikely to reach the playoffs.
Due to this, a number of the team's best players are being linked with a move ahead of the deadline, but here we will look at three players who will remain in Orlando.
#3 Mo Bamba
Mohamed Bamba was selected with the sixth overall pick by the Orlando Magic in the 2018 draft, and the Harlem native was expected to play a major role during his rookie season. Nevertheless, Bamba has been kept out of the team by recently named All-Star Nikola Vucevic, and on a recent edition of the Zing podcast, Brian Windhorst suggested that the Magic had made the 20-year-old available for trade.
Despite this, a deal makes little sense as Vucevic is likely to exit the team in the summer, and the Magic will find it difficult to bring in a better center than Bamba. The team is also known to be building around youth, so the Magic won't be willing to trade away one of the top three young centers in the entire NBA.
