NBA 2018-19: 3 Players the Chicago Bulls should trade away

The Chicago Bulls are one of the most recognizable sports teams in the world, although the team is enduring a dismal season for the second consecutive year. The Bulls finished the 2017-18 season with a record of 27-55, which was among the worst in the franchise's history, and they look set to post an even worse record in the current season.

After 43 games, the Bulls record stands at a dismal 10-33; only the Cleveland Cavaliers have a worst winning percentage. They have evidently fallen a long way since Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler were leading exciting teams to the Eastern playoffs, and look years away from being competitive once again.

It makes sense then that the Bulls would be looking to make a number of moves in the trade market. Their roster is full of both underperforming and underused players, and here we look at three players that the franchise should move on from.

#3 Robin Lopez

Back in 2016, Robin Lopez was traded to the Chicago Bulls in a huge trade that also saw Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon join the Bulls, with Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday and a future pick going the other way. Lopez had an impressive first two seasons with the Bulls, but he has since been relegated to the bench.

This season, Lopez is averaging just 16.7 minutes per game. Due to his limited minutes of action, the former Knicks man is averaging just 5.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Lopez will become a free agent this summer. He is still viewed by opposing teams as a player who can make an impact from the bench, so the Bulls should make the easy decision of letting Lopez leave in return for a draft pick.
