The 2019 trade deadline is set for 3 pm (Eastern Time) on Thursday, leaving teams with just two days to make major changes to their roster ahead of the business end of the 18/19 NBA season.

Anthony Davis continues to be linked with a trade to the ambitious Los Angeles Lakers. Fans can also expect plenty of fallout from the blockbuster Knicks-Mavericks trade that resulted in Tim Hardaway Jr., Kristaps Porzingis, Courtney Lee, and Trey Burke exiting New York. With nothing left to play for this season, a number of teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls are also known to be trying to offload a number of experienced players ahead of the trade deadline.

So, as we head into the final few days of the trade window, here are the biggest rumors circling the league for February 5th.

The Pelicans still want to keep Anthony Davis

In their attempts to sign Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers have offered the Pelicans a trade package that includes Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and two first-round picks. The Lakers are expected to offer an even bigger package in the coming days, however, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that the Pelicans will resist all offers:

The New Orleans Pelicans are engaging with the Los Angeles Lakers in talks on a trade for All-NBA star Anthony Davis, but president Magic Johnson must overcome a significant desire within the Pelicans organization to let Thursday's deadline expire with Davis remaining on the roster, league sources told ESPN.

After spending six years in New Orleans, Davis has requested a trade ahead of the trade deadline. The 25-year-old was recently named as an All-Star for a sixth time, and so far this season, Davis is averaging 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
