10 months after shooting her shot with Damian Lillard, GloRilla picks Steph Curry over Bucks star
Memphis rapper GloRilla was in attendance at the NBA Cup final in Las Vegas on Tuesday night. The 25-year-old, who expressed admiration for Bucks star Damian Lillard 10 months ago, chose Stephen Curry over him in one aspect during the event.
GloRilla was asked to participate in the trending game "This or That" with basketball players. When asked to pick the better player in her eyes, she hesitated before selecting Curry.
"I am going to ask you some basketball players you just tell me which one you think is better okay?" the interviewer asked the rapper.
The hip-hop artist agreed to participate, and the interview started with Allen Iverson and Magic Johnson. Glo chose Magic, and then picked Curry over him in the next round. When Damian Lillard was named as the fourth player, the rapper visibly flushed:
"Why y'all be.." she trailed before stating, "Stephen Curry," laughing at the question.
GloRilla stuck with Stephen Curry in the next round before choosing Kobe over him and deeming the Black Mamba as her G.O.A.T. The 'Yeah Glol' artist shot her shot at Damian Lillard 10 months ago during the All-Star weekend in Indianapolis.
Claiming to 'want' Damian Lillard, the rapper showed a keen interest in the Bucks star. Glo later took to X, stating that she was ready to throw hands for Dame and fight whoever:
"Whoever she is can't whoop me so I really dgaf" she wrote.
Damian Lillard was also asked about GloRilla during media day in September. He chose to keep his lips sealed on the topic, laughing off the query.
"I'm weak that's hilarious. You know I keep my personal life personal, you know and I'll let it be at that," the Bucks superstar responded.
Damian Lillard wins first trophy of his career
Although GloRilla may have picked Curry over Dame, lady luck had other plans for him as he ended his trophy drought by winning the NBA Cup. The former Portland Trail Blazers star has been in the league for over 11 years and earned his first major honor on Tuesday.
Defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 97-81, Dame teamed up with Giannis for a combined 49 points to lead their team to their first-ever NBA Cup title. The Greek Freak was in top form, achieving a triple-double with 26 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists. Lillard contributed 23 points of his own, earning his first professional trophy. After leaving the Trail Blazers to pursue a title, the former Weber State star has done just that in his second season and will now aim for the NBA title next.
After a horrendous 2-8 start to the season, the Bucks have finally found their rhythm. Concerns about the compatibility between Giannis and Dame have also faded, with the duo combining for 58.4 points per game and currently being hailed as the most efficient duo.
