2 months after the breakup, Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen's relationship draws harsh criticism from Nick Young: "That's super thirsty to me"
When the news first became official in early 2023, Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen received a lot of attention and criticism for their relationship. This was due to the complicated foundation of Marcus being the son of Michael Jordan and Larsa being the ex-wife of Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan's former teammate. Interestingly, former LA Clippers guard Nick Young also shared his lack of enthusiasm for it in an interview.
Despite all the negative connotations associated with their relationship at the time, Larsa and Marcus chose to remain headstrong in what they had together. However, there were reports that the relationship had ended in February this year.
Nick Young shared his comments in an appearance on VladTV; he wasn't too fond of the relationship between Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan.
"That's disgusting," Young said. "That's like thirsty to me, super thirsty. ... You must be trying to get something to get famous to. Nobody that naive now."
Young found the relationship to have a weak foundation in terms of what both parties wanted out of it. Interestingly, the 2018 NBA champion argued that pride could have been a factor, considering Larsa's complicated history with the Chicago Bulls legend.
Charles Barkley talked about the relationship that Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen had
The previous relationship between Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan caused such a stir that even Phoenix Suns legend Charles Barkley had to say something about it. In an appearance on Shannon Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay" podcast, the 1993 MVP didn't criticize the couple but instead felt bad for the two NBA legends whose names are involved.
"I feel bad for Michael [Jordan]," Barkley said. "I feel bad for Scottie [Pippen]. That is so messy. I don't like messy because when it's messy, everybody has an opinion on it. Everybody has an opinion, and you know the internet is not a place for messy."
During the interview, Barkley highlighted that he wasn't the type of individual to dabble in situations that can result in mixed reactions from the public. Despite being retired, he is aware that he has a reputation to uphold, being the prominent figure that he is in sports.
Despite being competitors at the height of their NBA careers, a matter like this goes beyond the scope of basketball, especially at this point in their retirement phase.
Two months after Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan's break-up, neither Michael Jordan nor Scottie Pippen has issued any comments or statements on the matter.
Originally, Michael Jordan's "No" response to a TMZ reporter asking about his approval of his son's relationship garnered a lot of attention from the media.
However, Marcus also set the record straight in his "Separation Anxiety with Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan" podcast that the Bulls legend said he didn't want the former couple to feel weirded out by his response.
