2K streamer Los Pollos rips YouTuber's negativity around Bronny James' preseason performance: "You're a f**king loser"
As the son of one of the game's biggest stars, Bronny James has been watched closely since getting drafted into the NBA. Following a shaky start to his pro career, one streamer came to the defense of the young guard as he continues to face scrutiny.
During one of his recent streams, Los Pollos went on a long rant about Bronny. He called out one specific YouTuber, "Awful Coaching," for attacking his play in the preseason. Los Pollos feels people should be a little easier on Bronny following his cardiac arrest scare last year.
"You're sitting here hating on a kid who a year ago didn't know if he'd ever be able to play basketball again because he had a f***** heart attack," Los Pollas said.
"You're making full blown breakdowns of preseason games of a 55th overall pick. You're a f****** loser bro."
As Los Pollos mentioned, Bronny James was unlikely to look like a blue-chip prospect in preseason after being one of the last picks in the draft. The LA Lakers took a flier on him with hopes that his game could grow under their developmental system.
Across five preseason games, Bronny is averaging 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds on 20% shooting from the field.
Kevin Durant jokes about preseason interaction with Bronny James
This season, LeBron and Bronny James are on track to make history as the first father-son duo as teammates in the NBA. On Thursday night, the son of the 20-time All-Star had an encounter with another star who has had great longevity.
During the preseason matchup between the LA Lakers and Phoenix Suns, Bronny attacked the rim in what he thought was a clear lane. However, Kevin Durant ended up rotating at the last second and blocked the former second-round pick at the rim.
After the game, a fan made a comment on social media about Kevin Durant blocking a shot from LeBron's son. The former MVP ended up replying, saying:
"Damn I'm old."
Bronny James ended up logging 17 minutes in this matchup and finished with four points and two rebounds on 2-for-4 shooting from the field. Behind a strong performance from their other draft pick, Dalton Knecht, the Lakers were able to pull out a 128-122 win.
Seeing how things have gone for him in the preseason, it's clear Bronny needs more time before he is an everyday player at the NBA level. He'll likely spend some time with the Lakers over the year, but playing in the G-League could be best for his development.
