6'5" 'J-Dub' Jalen Williams pokes fun at sister with hilarious banter on special day
Jalen Williams has been one of the OKC Thunder's star players this season but the spotlight and media attention hasn't stopped the 23-year-old from some light-hearted banter with his family members. On Monday, Williams wished his big sister, Jasmine, a happy birthday on Instagram and added a hilarious comment to go with the picture.
"Happy Birthday to the shortest person in the family. Love you," wrote Williams
A message from a sibling is always nice to receive on your special day, but Jasmine Williams wasn't going to let this one slide without a response to the playful comment.
"Could have left out the short part," replied Jasmines Williams along with a laughing emoji. "Thank you brother, love you."
The 6-foot-6 Jalen Williams towers over his sister in the picture he shared on social media. However, the Thunder forward is not the tallest member of the family. His brother, Cody Williams, who also plays in the NBA with the Utah Jazz, is listed at 6-foot-8.
Jalen was a three start recruit coming out of high school and committed to Santa Clara University in the Bay Area to develop his game. He excelled over three years at the school and was the 12th overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft. In 2024, his brother Cody, who was a five-star recruit in high school and star athlete at Colorado, was selected by the Jazz with the 10th pick in the draft.
Jalen Williams once joked about his stature after picture alongside his brother and Sarr siblings
At 6-foot-6, Jalen Williams would be the tallest person in most rooms. However, by NBA standards, the Thunder star would likely fall into the "average" category.
This summer, Williams was in New York City for the NBA draft to support his brother Cody. The Sarr brothers, Olivier and Alexandre, who are both NBA players, were also in town and the four athletes decided to pose for a photo in Times Square.
After the image was shared by a Thunder fan page on X, Williams noticed something strange. The Oklahoma City forward responded to the image with a hilarious comment about his stature.
"I hate that I look 5'10," joked Williams.
Jalen's brother Cody is listed at 6-foot-8. Olivier Sarr and Alexandre Sarr are 6-foot 10 and 7-feet, respectively.
