Al Horford sends love to wife Amelia Vega as she shares sneak peek of Abu Dhabi getaway

Al Horford and the Boston Celtics are in Abu Dhabi for the NBA preseason games. The NBA champion and his wife, Amelia Vega, took the opportunity to explore the capital city. Vega posted a video of the couple enjoying their time ahead of the Celtics' preseason game against the Denver Nuggets.

In the video that Vega posted on Instagram, the couple were seen posing in front of a 2024 Abu Dhabi Games banner. Vega's post received a sweet reaction from her husband Al Horford.

The Boston Celtics star reacted with two 'heart in eyes' and two kiss emojis on the post. The couple also clicked selfies in front of the city's skyscrapers.

The Celtics and the Nuggets were scheduled to play two games in the city as a part of the Abu Dhabi Games. They played their first game on Friday, which the Celtics won 107-103. Boston also won the second game 130-104 on Sunday.

The drive by the NBA to play two games in the capital city of UAE was started in 2022. These preseason games are the result of the partnership between the NBA and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.

Al Horford's wife Amelia Vega joined him as the Celtics star received the Dominican highest honor

Al Horford is the first Dominican player to win an NBA title. On his achievement, his country decided to honor the Boston Celtics veteran by bestowing him with the country's highest honor.

Horford received the "Order of Merit of Duarte, Sánchez, and Mella in the degree of Knight" from the president of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader. When Horford arrived to receive the honor, he was accompanied by his wife Amelia Vega.

Although the Dominican star already knew that he was going to meet the president, he had no idea that he would be bestowed such a big honor. The Celtics big man also added that it was a very special day for his family.

"I knew I was going to come meet the president, but I didn't know I was gonna get the highest award for the country," Horford said. "So, very special for me, very special for my family. I feel very proud right now. Very overwhelmed with a lot of emotion. Very, very special day for me today."

Al Horford's father Tito Horford was also an NBA player. Tito played only three years in the league for the Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Bullets. He was selected 39th overall by the Bucks in the 1988 Draft.

Al Horford's wife is also the first Miss Universe from the Dominican Republic. She won the title in 2003. Horford's father and his wife are often seen cheering the Celtics star from the stands.
