"Almost wants to make me say, 'Eh, goat'": Chris Broussard reacts to LeBron James unique off-the-wall pass during Team USA practice

Fox Sports analyst Chris Broussard has always insisted that LeBron James will never overtake Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time [GOAT]. He usually has all sorts of rebuttals every time colleague Nick Wright pushes “King James” to that throne. For Broussard, the ship has sailed regarding the LA Lakers superstar’s contention for that title.

James remains in the limelight as Team USA prepares for the 2024 Olympics. The four-time MVP is now in London with his teammates to face South Sudan on Saturday for an exhibition game.

LeBron James’ creativity and passing leaped in one sequence during one of the Americans’ scrimmages. The four-time MVP whipped the ball to the other side of the court by bouncing it off the wall. Devin Booker caught the pass before flicking it to Kevin Durant for a 3-pointer.

Chris Broussard reacted to that play:

“That ALMOST makes me want to say, ‘Eh, GOAT.’ That’s a great pass! I said, ‘Almost.’ Everybody can’t do that. You see how impressed Steph [Curry] was.”

Broussard’s comment hilariously stunned Nick Wright and Kevin Wildes, who called it a “big loss” for the Michael Jordan supporter.

Team USA coach Steve Kerr has asked LeBron James to play point guard. That highlight-reel pass is just one example why the Golden State Warriors play-caller wants James to orchestrate for the team.

Kerr is maximizing Steph Curry’s shooting and movement in the perimeter to cause chaos. Curry, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker will be tantalizing targets for James to pass to.

Chris Broussard once claimed LeBron James is insecure regarding the GOAT talks

Chris Broussard can be very passionate about the GOAT debate involving Michael Jordan and LeBron James. He will not hesitate to spar with anyone who argues that “King James” should have that honor over the legendary Chicago Bulls superstar.

Two years ago, he had this to say about James’ penchant for calling himself the best:

"I think LeBron's showing insecurity. LeBron keeps bringing it up. Let other people talk about it. If you're that guy, you don't have to keep telling us. I get it, Muhammad Ali used to always tell us he's the greatest.
“That was part of his sick, he did it with humor. LeBron is saying it seriously because he's out there looking at (it like) 'Man, everybody got Jordan ahead of me."

The First Things First crew knows very well where he stands in basketball GOAT discussions. Chris Broussard was so impressed by James’ off-the-wall pass that he “almost” conceded that enviable honor to James over “His Airness.”
