"Already plays basketball without using one of his hands" - Fans roast Jaylen Brown's bars on track with A$AP Ferg

This week, Jaylen Brown revealed that he and rapper A$AP Ferg were collaborating on a song that would be released on Friday, Aug. 23. The news caught many members of the NBA community off guard given that Brown hasn't dabbled in music like other players such as Damian Lillard. Despite that, Brown and Ferg have been friends for several years now.

Back in 2019, the rapper presented Jaylen Brown with a gift for his 23rd birthday, a custom chain/pendant combo that caught the attention of the NBA community. Since then the rapper, who is from New York, has continued to support Brown from the sidelines, attending a number of Celtics games over the years.

In 2021, while speaking in an interview at Rolling Loud music festival, A$AP Ferg was asked which NBA player he would want to make a song with. At the time, the rapper name-dropped Jaylen Brown.

Now, three years later, the track is coming to fruition. According to Legion Hoops, and various other online accounts, at one point during the song, Brown raps:

"I learned how to touch her without using my hands,"

The NBA community was quick to react to the news, and the teaser:

"If I say a left hand joke the Celtics fans will get overly sensitive and lash out" - Another joked
"He also only uses one hand to play basketball" - One wrote

Others seemingly took the line as a shot at his girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick's ex-boyfriend, Kevin Porter Jr. who was accused of assaulting her.

Looking closer at Jaylen Brown's new song with A$AP Ferg, and his recent beef with Nike

Jaylen Brown's upcoming song with A$AP Ferg is notably titled "Just Do It" which appears to be a shot at Nike given the recent public spat between the reigning Finals MVP and the sporting giant.

After Kyrie Irving was cut from Nike for sharing an anti-semitic documentary online, Brown criticized the company. At the time, he pointed out that Nike releasing Irving because his controversial comments seemed hypocritical when the company uses underpaid workers for labor.

Since then, he has been seen wearing unbranded Nike shoes with the company's logo removed while on-court ever since he hit free agency in the sneaker industry in 2021.

This offseason, after Kawhi Leonard was removed from Team USA, the expectation was that Brown would be selected as the replacement. Instead, the team, sponsored by Nike, wound up selecting Derrick White.

In response, Brown took to social media, posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, about the situation, calling out Nike for the snub.

While speaking with media members last month, Brown said that he feels Nike played a role in his absence from Team USA, however, despite that, it was all love between he and his Celtics teammates.

With the new song, however, Jaylen Brown could be preparing to take shots at Nike alongside A$AP Ferg.
