Amid US Presidential race, VP Kamala Harris pays a surprise visit to LeBron James & Co at Team USA Olympics camp
Team USA is preparing for the upcoming Paris Olympics with a star-studded roster. The players appear to be in great spirits ahead of the competition and are getting several guests in the camp. After Kai Cenat linked up with players, they received U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
On Wednesday, NBA reporter Ben Golliver shared a video on X of Harris walking around the gym and talking with coach Steve Kerr. Figures like Jalen Rose, Brad Stevens and legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski were also present.
After a disappointing 2023 FIBA World Cup, Team USA aims to reach the top of international basketball with a gold medal in the European country.
LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are some names who will lead this overpowered squad against some of the best teams in the world.
Harris has spent time with some of these players. After winning the championship, the NBA champions visited the White House, with Harris welcoming them alongside President Joe Biden.
Team USA knows its opponents for the upcoming Paris Olympics
After the conclusion of the 2024 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, the three groups for the competition have been set. USA landed in Group C. They'll be going up against FIBA Europe powerhouse Serbia, Africa's South Sudan and the inspiring Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico took out another powerhouse like Lithuania to land in Paris.
Nikola Jokic looks forward to facing some of his opponents in the league. However, Joel Embiid, one of them, doesn't seem to be worried about the three-time NBA MVP.
"I don't care about Jokic," Embiid said in q news conference. "I'm playing for my national team. It's all about focusing on ourselves and trying to make sure everybody is on the same page. When you get there, we're going to know what we got to focus on."
"But right now it's about trying to find ways to get better."
NBA prospect has high expectations for 2024 Team USA
After engaging in a three-day camp with Select Team, Cooper Flagg, a projected lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, shared his thoughts about Team USA. He admitted that it'll be hard for opponents to beat them.
"They can be any team they want to be. They have no weaknesses, no holes. They can play any type of way and dominate. So, it's just going to be a dominant team that asserts their will on everybody they see,” Flagg said in an interview.
Team USA will start its Olympic campaign on July 28 against Serbia, hoping to get off to a good start against the hardest opponent in its group.
