Andrew Wiggins comeback rumors explored after he was listed as GTD against Pelicans

Andrew Wiggins comeback rumors have sparked online after a Reddit user did some deep digging. After seeing a post about him being a game-time decision, the user later saw the former All-Star listed as doubtful.

Despite what the Reddit user may have stumbled upon, it does not seem like we are getting an Andrew Wiggins comeback anytime soon. Both the NBA and ESPN injury reports still have him listed as out.

Wiggins has become a key piece for the Golden State Warriors, but has been out of action for some time now. The former No. 1 pick has been away from the team since the middle of February for personal reasons.

Before stepping away, Wiggins was in the midst of another All-Star-level season. He was averaging over 17 points per game while shooting close to 40% from beyond the arc. His high-level two-way play has been greatly missed as Golden State has been forced to rely on young players like Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody to replace what he brings.

If the Warriors want any shot at defending their championship, they'll need Wiggins back sooner rather than later. Right now, they sit in the play-in tournament as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

Warriors still uncertain about Andrew Wiggins comeback this season

Based on the comments regarding the situation, it doesn't seem like the Golden State Warriors are preparing for an Andrew Wiggins comeback. They continue to support their teammate in what he's going through, but don't seem like he'll be back on the court with them in the near future.

The latest player to talk about this situation was Draymond Green. During a recent episode of his podcast, he gave a rather lackluster response to Wiggins returning. While discussing the topic, all the four-time All-Star could say is "we'll see."

If Golden State has to enter the playoffs without Wiggins, it will greatly impact their defense. Last postseason, he stepped up in a big way defensively during their quest for a title. With players like Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James possibly in their path, they'll need as much perimeter defense that they can get.

Being without Wiggins is a big loss, but the Warriors are prepared for anything. This core has proven on multiple occasions that it knows how to win on the highest level. They'll have their work cut out this year as their postseason journey will be tougher than what they're used to.
