Anonymous NBA executive proposes LeBron James as missing piece to form a 'threesome' with Kings duo

In a shocking turn of events, LeBron James has been a commonly talked about player when it comes to the trade deadline. As people continue to speculate about the 20-time All-Star going on the move, one league executive threw out an interesting landing spot.

While speaking anonymously, a league executive tossed out the idea of LeBron staying in California but being dealt to the Kings. Alongside a pair of All-Stars in De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, they could form an interesting big three.

“The one place that I don’t hear a lot of talk about with LeBron is Sacramento,” he said. “He could change them, and they might have the kind assets to make a trade work. They have a lot of young talent, and because they’re a small market, they haven’t spent like drunken sailors. They have some draft picks a young talent. If they could get to the salary, LeBron would take (De’Aron) Fox and (Domantas) Sabonis and elevate the hell out of them — particularly Fox. With that threesome, those guys could be a force.”

To be clear, LeBron James has not requested a trade from the LA Lakers. It's also worth pointing out that he has a no-trade clause in his contract, and is on the same roster as his son.

As for this hypothetical move, LeBron joining the Kings would be an eye-popping move. Fox and Sabonis have thrived as one of the better duos of the league, but have failed to really break through as a contender. Bringing in someone like LeBron could help them get over the hump and enter the top tier of NBA teams.

NBA insider reflects on Golden State Warriors' pursit of LeBron James

Even though LeBron James has made no indications of wanting a trade, one team has consistently kept him on their radar. That being the Golden State Warriors. They were interested in acquiring him at last year's deadline, and it doesn't look like their feelings have changed.

While on ESPN's Get Up Wednesday morning, NBA insider Brian Windhorst touched on the Warriors targeting LeBron for a second year in a row.

"Who else is on their list, that's LeBron James," Windhorst said. "I know that this is one of the most fascinating opportunities in the league. It's a delicious scenario to think about."
"The Warriors have dreamed of pairing LeBron with Steph Curry and Draymond Green since last year."

Despite being near the end of their careers, LeBron and Steph Curry are still playing at an extremely high level. Not to mention they just showed over the summer that they're capable of leading a team to the top. Joining forces in the NBA would give each star a good opportunity to secure their fifth championship.

As of now, LeBron remains committed to the LA Lakers. However, if he sought a change of scenery, the Warriors would certainly be the most interesting destination.
