Anthony Edwards' baby mama Jeanine Robel amazed at Team USA phenom's windmill dunk
Anthony Edwards had a great game in Team USA's 104-83 win over Puerto Rico on Saturday. Edwards put on a highlight performance, topped by a windmill dunk in the fourth quarter. His girlfriend, Jeanine Robel, was in attendance and had a one-word response to the slam.
In a post on her official Instagram account, Robel had her phone ready to capture Edwards' windmill jam early in the fourth period. The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar intercepted a pass and stole the ball before running to the other side for the highlight reel dunk.
Here's what Robel, who shares a daughter with Edwards, wrote on IG:
"OMG."
Jeanine Robel has been in full support of her boyfriend, Anthony Edwards. Robel visited France and was with Rudy Gobert's girlfriend, Julia Bonilla, before the start of the tournament. Edwards and Gobert are teammates with the Minnesota Timberwolves, but possible foes at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Anthony Edwards puts on a show against Puerto Rico
Team USA had no problems beating Puerto Rico on Saturday at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille, France. LeBron James led the way with 10 points, six rebounds and eight assists in 17 minutes as the Americans took control of the game from the start.
Jayson Tatum had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Joel Embiid had his best game of the Olympics with 15 points and two blocks. However, it was Anthony Edwards who stole the show on Saturday. He finished with 26 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 17 minutes off the bench.
Edwards has been pretty good off the bench for Team USA and should be a huge factor in the knockout rounds. They will face Brazil in the quarterfinals followed by a potential matchup against Serbia or Australia in the semifinals.
What did Anthony Edwards say after the game?
Anthony Edwards was interviewed by the Olympics after his performance against Puerto Rico. One of the things asked was about his windmill dunk, which has gone viral. Edwards explained that he told his idol Kevin Durant beforehand that if he gets a straight path to the basket, he'll throw down a windmill slam.
"I already told KD, after the timeout, if I get a break, I'm gonna windmill it. I wanted to go between the legs, but I didn't try it in a minute, so I ain't gonna embarrass myself," he laughed with the media members after the game," Edwards said.
The 22-year-old superstar added that he wanted to hit a between the legs dunk but didn't want to embarrass himself with a failed attempt. He also wants to posterize someone, so he has three games left to do it in this year's Olympic tournament.
