Anthony Edwards embraces Atlanta humility by sharing video of missed shots

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is gearing up for a big season ahead after the Minnesota Timberwolves put the league on notice during the 2023-24 NBA Playoffs. In a post on Instagram, the two-time All-Star and recent gold medal winner gave fans a glimpse of his offseason training, posting an unedited clip of his makes and his misses.

While the team failed to make it out of the first round in back-to-back seasons with the big-man duo of Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns, they showed their growth.

In the case of Anthony Edwards, the young star averaged a career-high in scoring during the regular season with 25.9 points per game. In the postseason, he led the team in scoring as well with 27.6 ppg while also averaging a career-high 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 steals per game.

Moreover, Edwards also earned his second All-Star selection as well as his first All-NBA selection. Following Team USA's gold medal win in Paris, Anthony Edwards is back in the lab working on his shooting.

In a post on Instagram on Saturday morning, Edwards was seen working out at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, where he's from. Along with trainers, Edwards can be seen working on his shooting, posting a caption that reads:

"Real Atl Playa, I show misses 2"

Looking at the 2024-25 season ahead for Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves

Despite the Minnesota Timberwolves putting the league on notice last season with their run to the Western Conference Finals, the team sits in fifth place when it comes to betting odds to win the 2024-25 NBA Finals.

According to FanDuel, the Boston Celtics are heavy-betting favorites to win it all with +300 odds, followed by the OKC Thunder in second place with +700 odds. Then there's a three-way tie for third place with the Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks all at +900 odds.

In fourth place are the Dallas Mavericks with +1000 odds after they made it all the way to the NBA Finals last season. That then brings us to Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have +1200 odds to win the Finals.

While the Timberwolves undoubtedly face some tough competition throughout the season, Edwards has shown time and time again that he has no shortage of confidence. Following Team USA's gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Edwards will enter the season with plenty of momentum.

Preseason action begins for the team on Oct. 4 with a road game against the LA Lakers before the regular season tips off with a rematch between the two teams on Oct. 22.
