Anthony Edwards shares what Team USA was bopping to in the Olympics: "KD only wanna listen to Drake"
Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant were in New York City for the Fanatics Fest event. With the Team USA teammates winning gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Jalen Rose was curious about their choice of music in the locker room there. Edwards hilariously threw Durant under the bus by sharing what they were listening to in France.
In a post by Rose on X, formerly known as Twitter, the former NBA player was the panel shot for the sit-down interview with Edwards and Durant. Rose asked the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar about what the music inside the Team USA locker room was.
"Man, KD only wanna listen to Drake. I was with him the whole time, so I was listening to nobody but Drake," Edwards said.
The crowd at the Fanatics Fest laughed at Anthony Edwards' answer, with Jalen Rose also chuckling in his seat. Kevin Durant also had the same reaction although his choice of music was not surprising.
Durant has been very loyal to Drake over the years and continued to side with the Canadian rapper throughout his beef with Kendrick Lamar. However, most NBA stars seemingly had Lamar winning, especially those from the West Coast.
Several players like Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan went viral when they were on stage for Kendrick's "Pop Out" concert in June. LeBron James was also in attendance bopping to the popular "Not Like Us" beat.
As for Edwards and Durant's "bromance," it was nothing but admiration for the former's part. He was a huge fan of KD growing up, so it was an experience for Edwards to play with his idol while representing the United States.
Anthony Edwards was excited to play with Kevin Durant after ousting him in the NBA playoffs
Before teaming up in the Olympics, Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves took on Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs. Some thought that it was an even matchup, while others had the Suns advancing to the Western Conference semifinals.
However, Edwards showed why he was the breakout star of the 2023-24 NBA season. He led the Timberwolves to a four-game sweep of the Suns in dominating fashion. They made it all the way to the Western Conference finals but fell to the Dallas Mavericks in five games.
Despite what happened in the postseason, Edwards and Durant had a great bond in the Olympics. The Timberwolves star even called the experience a dream come true as well as playing with LeBron James.
"It's everything I've ever dreamed of., Hell yeah. Him and 'Bron are the best two team people. They always want to see the person next to them shine. I'm the same way. It's perfect," Edwards said. [H/T Andscape]
