"Atmosphere was crazy tonight": Patrick Mahomes amped up after Mavs Twitter shouts him out on P.J. Washington celebration

The Dallas Mavericks hold a commanding 3-0 lead against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and witnessing their third victory was NFL icon Patrick Mahomes. Seen at the sidelines of the American Airlines Center, the three-time Super Bowl champion gave PJ Washington some props for his gameplay in Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Western Conference Finals.

With the game being tight until the final minutes, Washington made a 3-pointer at the corner, coming from a Kyrie Irving swing pass at the 3:34 mark, to help the Mavs gain a three-point advantage.

While Washington was going back to defense, the replay camera showed Patrick Mahomes giving him some props. The scene was posted on the Dallas Mavericks' social media indicating that the NFL superstar loved the play.

Mahomes also gave the Dallas Mavericks a shout-out on his X account.

Aside from Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic combining for 66 points in Game 3, PJ Washington came in as the third force, scoring 16 points along with registering eight rebounds, two assists and two triples.

With a new NBA champion to be crowned in a few weeks, the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves drew quite a crowd. Included in it were A-list celebrities.

Patrick Mahomes was the most visible, with the TV coverage giving him some exposure, but apart from him and his wife, Brittany Holmes, his Kansas City Chiefs teammate and Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce was also in attendance.

Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki was also inside the American Airlines Center, as was Texas Rangers' Alex Rodriguez, a part owner of the Timberwolves. Rapper Queen Latifah was spotted courtside enjoying the game beside Mavs owner Miriam Adelson as well.

The Dallas Mavericks put on quite a show in front of the celebrities as they pulled away inthe final period. Luka Doncic led the team with 33 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals, while Kyrie Irving also provided 33 markers with four assists and three rebounds.

On the other side, Anthony Edwards was the Timberwolves' top scorer with 26 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Mike Conley Jr. tallied 16, while Karl-Anthony Towns struggled, shooting only 5-of-18.

The Mavs have another home game to host in two days. Another win will push Dallas to their first NBA Finals appearance since 2011 when they beat the Miami Heat featuring LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
