Austin Reaves' girlfriend Jenna Barber reacts to his gratitude-filled post following Lakers' unbeaten startÂ
Austin Reaves' girlfriend, Jenna Barber, seems hyped for the Lakers guard's start to the season. LA is 3-0, and Reaves has played a crucial role under new coach JJ Redick's system, focusing on a more on-ball role. He's become a primary guard initiator for the Lakers' offense, which ranks fourth in the league. Reaves took to Instagram to express his gratitude towards the Lakers run, giving a shout-out to the fan base on Sunday.
"Thankful. Lets get it, Lakernation!" Reaves wrote in his caption with a pic of him in action.
Reaves' girlfriend Jenna commented on the post.
"Yaaaa," Jenna wroteiwith a starstruck emoji.
Reaves hasn't been as public with his relationship, but his girlfriend has frequently posted with him on her Facebook account. However, her Instagram @jennabarberr is private. The couple has been together since 2014, as per the New York Post. They went to Cedar Ridge High School in Arkansas, which is also Reaves' hometown. That's where their relationship began.
Jenna and Austin are still together. While he has moved to LA after signing with the Lakers, according to Jenna's Facebook, she still lives in Newark, Arkansas, where she's studying at Logan College of Chiropractic.
Austin Reaves spent his offseason in Hawaii with girlfriend Jenna Barber
Austin Reaves finally got himself a full offseason after spending last year with the Team USA at the FIBA World Cup. The Lakers guard made full use of it by spending time with his girlfriend, Jenna Barber, in Hawaii. She shared pics from their getaway in September on Facebook.
Reaves' offseason break seems to have helped him a lot on the court. In three games, the 26-year-old has averaged 18.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists, shooting on 55/44/72 splits. He has the second-highest usage rate behind Anthony Davis.
Reaves had a relatively slower start last year. He wasn't as effective early on after a grueling summer with the USA basketball team. Reaves also didn't have a consistent role under former coach Darvin Ham. That has changed with JJ Redick in charge, who is optimizing Reaves' skillset in the best way possible.
