"We probably have the best face of a franchise in the history of sports"- Warriors' GM lavishes praise on Stephen Curry, says his leadership sets the tone of 'we'll figure it out'

"Willard and Dibs", a popular sports talk radio show in the San Francisco Bay Area recently welcomed Golden State Warriors President of Basketball Operations Bob Meyers. They discussed all things Warriors — Stephen Curry's impact on the team, extensions of young stars Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins and the team's offseason issues.

Of course, the biggest talking point was the fight between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green. Meyers stated that the team has the right leadership to be able to handle any issues going forward.

He said:

“Like Steinmetz mentioned, we probably have the best face of a franchise in the history of sports. I believe that. Steph sets this tone of ‘we will figure this out.’ He really is the beacon of how we move.”

Stephen Curry is the unquestioned leader of the team and provides the franchise with a lot of stability. With one of the best head coaches in Steve Kerr, Curry and his teammates seem to be in a good place.

In 64 games last season, Curry averaged 25.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. He shot 43.7% from the field, including 38.0% from deep.

Stephen Curry does things the right way

The Warriors couldn’t’ have a better person to be the face of the franchise than Stephen Curry. He does a lot for the community and stays away from controversies. Curry is a family man who never really argues with his teammates or referees, and he doesn't throw temper-tantrums when things are not going his way.

Curry was drafted by the Warriors and could retire in Golden State. After the 2019 season, when the team lost in the Finals and didn’t return to the playoffs the following year, Curry could have tried to usher his way out of town but instead he re-signed with the team and led the rebuild.

Curry is irreplaceable for the Warriors and he will be looking to defend his title this season. The Warriors' first regular season game is against LeBron James and the LA Lakers on Oct. 19.
