Bobby Marks explores realistic trade options for LA Lakers: “I don’t want Knicks fans to freak out

With the NBA trade deadline inching closer, plenty of teams are actively trying to upgrade their rosters. One of those teams is the LA Lakers. After a slow start to the season, the Lakers are starting to show signs of life.

The Lakers are currently 13th in the Western Conference with a 20-24 record. Superstar big man Anthony Davis is out with a right foot injury but is expected to return soon. During his appearance on ESPN's "NBA Today," analyst Bobby Marks discussed potential trade possibilities for the LA Lakers. Marks believes that they should target a veteran like San Antonio Spurs forward Josh Richardson.

He also suggested that the Lakers should pursue New York Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley in a trade.

“With one of those other picks, the 2027 [first round pick]. I don’t want Knicks fans to freak out when I say this, this is about the Lakers right now. A player like Immanuel Quickley, that's the type of player that the Lakers are going to need to target here..."

The Lakers have started to trend in the right direction. With LeBron James thriving and Anthony Davis close to making his return, the Lakers need to strike now before it's too late.

The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday February 9 at 3:00pm/ET.
