Bogdan Bogdanovic accuses referees of bias in Serbia's heartbreaking defeat to USA

As Team USA celebrated its 95-91 win against Serbia in the semifinal round of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Bogdan Bogdanovic had things to say about the officials. Team Serbia led during the majority of the game on Thursday but couldn't handle the comeback from the Americans during the final quarter.

The Serbians did the best they could against the Americans, taking a 17-point lead at one point. Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic led the national team with 17 points, five rebounds and 11 assists. Bogdanovic helped out with 20 points and four rebounds as he shot 3 of 10 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Bogi shared his thoughts on the officiating job after the game.

"Thank you to everyone for everything; it was a tough loss, but I am proud of the way we fought," the Atlanta Hawks guard said. "We didn't give up, and that is something we can be proud of.
"We tried to talk to (the officials); they didn't try to talk to us. They just walked away. But it's OK. The USA doesn't need that type of help against us. You know, we didn't have that type of help when they were grabbing us with two hands and all that."

On Saturday, the Serbians will have a chance to go home with a medal. They'll play against Germany for the bronze medal game.

Bogdan Bogdanovic taunted Carmelo Anthony during the semifinal game

The semifinal game between USA and Serbia went off to a flying start, but mostly on the Serbian side. The Nikola Jokic-led team made the most of its open looks, especially Bogdan Bogdanovic. During Serbia's incredible first half, he went a bit overboard and taunted one of the greatest Olympic players of all time, Carmelo Anthony.

Bogi knocked down a 3-pointer to give the national team a 13-point lead and did Melo's "Three to the Dome" celebration. It looked like a compliment, but he did all that while staring at the NBA legend. The former New York Knicks star was sitting courtside with his son, Kiyan, supporting Team USA.

However, his taunt haunted him and his team in the second half. Steph Curry erupted for 36 points and made nine threes. LeBron James had a historic triple-double game of 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
