Bogdan Bogdanovic injury update: NBA insider shares latest status of Hawks guard

Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic will continue to miss more games this season as he deals with a hamstring issue. The Serbian star suffered the injury in the season opener against the Brooklyn Nets. Bogdanovic played 27 minutes and had eight points, two rebounds and two assists.

Since then, Bogdanovic has missed the Hawks' succeeding games. HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reported that Bogdanovic underwent a non-surgical procedure on Monday.

The team released a statement regarding Bogdanovic's injury on Tuesday, which confirmed his prolonged absence from the team's lineup.

"Guard Bogdan Bogdanovic underwent a non-surgical procedure yesterday at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex. He will be re-evaluated in approximately four weeks and his status will be updated as appropriate."

Aside from Bogdanovic, three other players for the Hawks will miss games due to injuries. Kobe Bufkin has a right shoulder subluxation and will be re-evaluated after four weeks. The Hawks reported that Bufkin has started with the treatment and rehabilitation.

Dyson Daniels is also out from the team's lineup following a right hip flexor strain. This happened after the game against the Washington Wizards on Monday. Daniels has been listed as day-to-day but will likely miss their Wednesday game against the Wizards.

Vit Krejci suffered a right adductor strain on Monday and will be re-evaluated after two weeks.

Bogdan Bogdanovic's goal of playing 82 games won't happen this season

Before the beginning of the 2024-25 NBA season, Bogdan Bogdanovic expressed his desire to be healthy. In his NBA career, Bogdanovic has not played all 82 games. He came close last season after playing 79 games.

"To play 82 games," Bogdanovic said. "I haven’t managed to do that yet and it’s very difficult. Last season I missed two, in one I was sick, and on the other I was injured. I think I can make it happen this season. ... It’s a new challenge for me, in the NBA everything is possible, everything is possible everywhere, but you have to have faith and one should remain persistent."

Coming into this season, his goal hasn't changed. However, he may not be able to achieve that feat as he'll continue to miss more games because of his injury.
