"Boom b*tch" - NBA radio seemingly host decodes Russell Westbrook's NSFW message to Lakers crowd after dagger

Just a couple of years ago, Russell Westbrook was playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately for him, his lifelong dream of coming back home and playing for the Purple & Gold quickly turned into a nightmare.

Lakers fans didn't care for Westbrook, and it didn't take long before he clapped back at them as well.

That's why, now that he went back there, this time with the Denver Nuggets, he didn't waste a chance to get back at them after hitting a big dagger:

"Boom, b*tch," Westbrook said after knocking down a three to put his team up 116-90.

Westbrook finished with 14 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds as the Nuggets beat the Lakers 127-102.

Lakers are still pointing fingers over Russell Westbrook trade

It's been years since the Westbrook trade went down. He's now on his second team after leaving the Lakers.

Even so, there's still been some accountability and finger-pointing about this move, according to The Athletic's Jovan Buha:

“My understanding is, yes, I think there’s been accountability for the Russ trade,” Buha said. “I also think there’s been some finger-pointing from all sides. There’s several parties involved, several parties to blame. Obviously, the stars were involved with it, but the front office and ownership ultimately signed off on it and executed the trade.
"I think there’s a lot of blame to go around for the Russ situation, and I think everyone’s done a combination of taking accountability, but also finger-pointing.”

The Lakers reportedly had a deal in place to trade for Buddy Hield. Instead, LeBron James and Anthony Davis pushed the front office to go after Westbrook.

The fit on the court was always questionable, and with the team breaking up a championship-winning core to get him, it didn't take long before he became the scapegoat.

Westbrook averaged 17.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.0 steals per game during his tenure with the Lakers. While he didn't perform up to the expectations and his salary, he was far from the sole one responsible for the Lakers' debacle.

He admittedly got death threats, and it seemed like he wasn't enjoying his time there.

Westbrook will always be a polarizing player. But after 200 career triple-doubles, two scoring titles, three assists titles, one MVP, nine All-Star selections, and two All-Star Game MVPs, he's by all means a future first-ballot Hall of Famer.
