Boston Celtics Mock Draft 2024: Projected picks and more
The 2024 NBA champion Boston Celtics have the 30th and the 54th pick in the upcoming draft. While they will maintain their stacked roster through the 2024-25 season, they might have a problem with maintaining their entire core as some of them could command higher salaries by the summer of 2025.
As such, looking for prospects to fill any gaps that might arise or simply adding assets that they could include in trade packages down the line would be a priority for the Celtics' front office this summer.
While the 30th or the 54th pick is hardly the spot where game-changing and generational talents are taken, the Celtics could still uncover a diamond in the rough through these picks. As such, here are some draftees whom the team could take with their picks.

Boston Celtics 2024 NBA Mock Draft
#1 Kyle Filipowski | Center | Duke
Fans have seen Kyle Filipowski be projected as a mid-to-late first-rounder or an early second-rounder. Filipowski will likely fill the role of a stretch big with the Boston Celtics but shooting is not the only thing he brings to the table as he has shown an ability to pass the ball.
#2 Baylor Scheierman | Shooting Guard | Creighton
fit into any NBA scheme thanks to his ability to hit the three. Aside from his three-point ability, he is also a decent passer and reliable rebounder as evidenced by his 3.9 assists and 7.8 rebounds-per-game average throughout his collegiate career. His playstyle does not rely on him having the ball a lot so plugging him in next to either Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum won't disrupt the team's offensive game.
#3 Ryan Dunn | Guard/Forward | Virginia
Ryan Dunn's draft stock is being held back by his awful three-point shooting. The good news is that the Boston Celtics roster is already stacked with great offensive talent. What Dunn brings to the court is his fantastic defense. Placing him in the lineup next to Jrue Holiday could create one of the most formidable perimeter defenses in the league.
During the 2023-24 season, Dunn averaged 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per game. With these averages, it might be a surprise that he's not projected to go higher but then a quick look at his limitations on offense easily explains why.
#4 DaRon Holmes II | Power Forward | Dayton
The Boston Celtics could lose both Xavier Tillman and Luke Kornet this summer. If they want to find a direct replacement, they could draft DaRon Holmes II if he is still available. He has a strong offensive game, he puts in effort and hustle when rebounding and he has good instincts on defense.
Holmes is one of the possible "diamonds in the rough" in this year's draft and a team like the Boston Celtics which wants to remain as championship contenders for many years could use a guy like him.
#5 Pacome Dadiet | Small Forward | France
Pacome Dadiet has the size and the raw athleticism to be a reliable wingman in the NBA. Offensively, he has shown that he can be a reliable three-point option and that he can finish around the rim. However, he still has a lot of room to grow, even in the things he does well.
This makes him a good fit for the Boston Celtics, who are not in immediate need of a star from this year's draft as he can take some time to develop his skill.time to develop his skill.
