Boston Celtics starting lineup for 2023-24 NBA season: All players listed

The Boston Celtics made a huge splash in the off-season as they landed two huge free-agent signings in Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday. They will be testing their new rotation against the New York Knicks this coming Wednesday, October 25 at Madison Square Garden.

For those who want to catch the action live, NBC Sports Boston will be starting the broadcast at exactly 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

On their first game of the season, here is the projected starting lineup and depth chart according to ESPN:

Small ForwardJaylen BrownSam  HauserJordan Walsh
Power ForwardJayson TatumOshae Brissett

With the tandem of Jrue Holiday and Derrick White on the backcourt, expect both of these players to give ball handlers a hard time bringing the ball. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum at the forward position are automatic as the Boston Celtics duo are seen as the anchors of the team.

Lastly, the starting center position will be occupied by Kristaps Porzingis over Al Horford. With his 7-foot-3 stature, the Latvian big man will be an intimidating presence in the paint and will confuse opposing teams with his ability to stretch the floor.

Jrue Holiday looks to build chemistry with new Boston Celtics teammates

On September 27, 2023, Jrue Holiday was traded to the Boston Celtics following Damian Lillard's trade. The three-time NBA All-Defensive first-team member brings in his championship experience which his Cetlics teammates would love to achieve as well.

In doing so, Holiday is getting immersed in the winning culture of the Boston Celtics and sees to it that everyone knows their role including himself.

"Honestly, whenever it comes. We know that JB and JT are our guys. We know KP is a threat out there, too, with his scoring ability. So, for me, it's about setting them up. But at the same time, maybe it makes it easier for me to score because they're always going to be locked in on them," said Holiday in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
"There's gonna be times when sometimes it gets a little stagnant, and maybe I do need to go to the line or get into the paint, try to get to the free throw line, and make something happen," he added.

Jrue Holiday averaged 19.3 points, 7.4 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in his previous season with the Milwaukee Bucks before joining the Celtics.
