Boston Celtics vs Orlando Magic game player stats and box score for April 25 | 2025 NBA playoffs Game 3

The Orlando Magic defeated the Boston Celtics 95-93 in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference first-round series on Friday at Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. Boston still leads the series 2-1.

Franz Wagner led Orlando with 32 points, seven rebounds and eight assists on 11-for-27 shooting, including 3-for-13 from 3-point range. Paolo Banchero finished with 29 points and six rebounds on 10-for-25 shooting (2-for-4 from downtown). Wendell Carter Jr. added 10 points and 12 rebounds on 4-for-8 shooting.

Jayson Tatum led Boston with 36 points and nine rebounds on 10-for-22 shooting (4-for-10 from the 3-point line). He also went 12-for-12 from the charity stripe. Jaylen Brown finished with 19 points and six rebounds on 7-for-14 shooting, while Derrick White had 16 points and five assists on 7-for-14 shooting (2-for-8 on 3-pointers).

The Celtics won the first two games of the series in Boston. They had a 103-86 win in the opening game on Sunday and a 109-100 Game 2 victory on Wednesday. Tatum missed the second game due to a wrist injury. Defensive guard Jrue Holiday was ruled out of Friday's game in Orlando due to a hamstring injury.

Game 4 of the best-of-seven series is on Sunday, and Game 5 will be played on Tuesday at TD Garden in Boston.

Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic game summary

The Orlando Magic ended the opening period on a 20-7 run. They had a 31-27 lead over the Boston Celtics. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner combined for 22 first-quarter points on 8-for-11 shooting (3-for-5 on 3-pointers) for the Magic. Jayson Tatum scored 13 (4-for-7 shooting) for the Celtics.

Boston outscored Orlando 32-18 in the second quarter. They ended the first half on a 19-5 run and took a 59-49 lead into the halftime break. Tatum scored a game-high 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting, including 3-for-7 from the 3-point line. Jaylen Brown had 11 points and four rebounds, while Derrick White added 10 points.

Wagner and Banchero both scored 15 apiece for Orlando. They shot a combined 12-for-24, including 3-for-7 on triples. However, no other Magic player scored in double figures in the first half.

Orlando scored 24 points in the third quarter and held Boston to just 11 points. They took a 73-70 lead heading into the final frame. The Magic held off several Celtics' runs in the fourth quarter to win their first game of the series.
