Brandon Miller predicted to be No.3 overall pick to the San Antonio Spurs in 2023 NBA draft: All you need to know

Brandon Miller is one of the best talents in the upcoming draft that could be picked early. One of the teams projected to have a top pick is the San Antonio Spurs, who currently have the second-worst record in the Western Conference standings.

Draft Express predicts that Brandon Miller of Alabama will be drafted by the Spurs in June. Of course, this isn't final, as the NBA hasn't held their draft lottery yet. The draft lottery will take place on May 16, and that will determine which pick San Antonio will get in the draft.

Miller's situation is quite tricky, as he got himself involved in a crime that resulted in the murder of a woman named Jamea Jonae Harris. It was reported that he was the person who brought the handgun to his teammate, Darius Miles, who along with his friend Michael Davis, has since been charged with capital murder.

The Crimson Tide forward has been playing incredibly well this season. He's averaging 19.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists this season. Miller is also shooting impressively on the floor, making 45.1% of his shots from the field and 40.1% from the three-point zone.

Due to the Spurs' wing depth, they don't need to draft Brandon Miller

Gone are the days when the San Antonio Spurs would win 50 games in a season and be one of the top teams in the entire league. They don't have players like Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker to save their seasons anymore. Right now, they're honing the talents of the players they've acquired in recent seasons.

NBA fans have been accustomed to seeing the Spurs in the postseason for a long time, and it feels odd to see them at the bottom of the standings. San Antonio has a 17-50 record, placing them at the bottom. The only thing that could fix their record is if they get to draft a generational talent.

The Spurs have a great young core of wing players who are capable of doing a plethora of things on the court. Guys like Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan can contribute a ton to the team aside from scoring. Devin Vassell has evolved into a mid-range assassin.

Although they have a losing season right now, fans are expecting the organization to make moves to improve the team. They've been linked to being the team to draft Victor Wembanyama.

But even if they don't get to acquire him, there are other talented players in this year's draft that could change things for the Spurs.
