Breaking: Steph Curry signs long-term extension with Under Armour
Steph Curry has just extended his contract with Under Armour. The Golden State Warriors superstar has signed a long-term extension that will last well beyond his retirement from the professional basketball league.
Curry signed with the footwear company in 2013 and has been its signature athlete ever since. His original deal was worth around $4 million per year, but it's much more valuable now. Curry's current contract with Under Armour is worth $215 million and includes an equity stake in the company.
The contract was set to expire in 2024, but the two sides reached an agreement to extend it before it expires. Considering that their partnership has been mutually beneficial, there is no doubt that this is the right move.
Steph Curry's new contract with Under Armour will last beyond his playing days
The Golden State Warriors point guard recently turned 35. While he's still a fantastic player, Curry will likely retire within the next five or six years. However, his contract with Under Armour will last well beyond that.
The financial terms of Curry's new Under Armour contract haven't been disclosed to the public. However, considering how big his previous contract was, the star player will likely receive at least $10 million a year.
“If the past 10 years have shown me anything, it’s that Under Armour and I can build great things together,” Steph Curry said. “In 2013, we bet on each other, and I’m all in on taking this next step together.”
Besides financial compensation, Curry will have the title of president of Curry Brand. The brand was launched in December 2020 and has been very successful and profitable so far.

Considering that the brand is still relatively new, it's only a matter of time before it's endorsed by world-class athletes.
The details of Steph Curry's new contract with Under Armour haven't been fully revealed. However, Kevin Plank, the company's founder, revealed that the contract has several clauses that would extend the contract.
Due to this, Curry's contract with the footwear company has the potential to be a lifetime deal.
