Brian Windhorst takes shot at Ben Simmons for his shenanigans in Brooklyn Nets: " Its one of the worst 3 contracts in the NBA”

Ben Simmons is still looking to find his groove after sitting out last season. The Brooklyn Nets are hoping that the former All-Star can regain his previous form.

While playing with the Philadelphia 76ers, Simmons looked like one of the most promising young players in the NBA. The talented 6'10" forward is looking to get his confidence back on the floor.

The Brooklyn Nets were hoping that Simmons would be a valuable part of their rotation. Simmons has put on some impressive performances this season, but the consistency is still lacking. In 37 games, Simmons is averaging 7.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists. He's also shooting 56.6% from the field and just 44.6% from the free throw line.

With Kyrie Irving traded to the Dallas Mavericks, the hope is that Simmons can step up his level of play. During a recent appearance on "The Lowe Post" podcast, NBA analyst Brian Windhorst didn't hold back with his criticism of Simmons.

NBA analyst Zach Lowe went into detail about the biggest issue with the Brooklyn Nets. Surprisingly, he didn't point the finger at Kyrie Irving or former Nets guard James Harden. Lowe claims that the main problem has been Simmons and his albatross contract.

“The biggest issue in BKN wasn't Kyrie, it wasn't Harden...it was Ben Simmons. He's a 0, Simmons has $80m owed to him over the next 2 yrs and doesn't produce."

Brian Windhorst stepped in and gave his opinion on Simmons' contract:

“Its one of the worst 3 contracts in the NBA” Windhorst said.

After missing the entire 2021-22 season, it was expected that Ben Simmons would need some time to shake off the rust. But as the All-Star break approaches, time is running out for Simmons to prove his worth.

The Brooklyn Nets find themselves in an interesting position ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline. Rival teams are keeping a close eye on the Nets in the wake of the Kyrie Irving trade.

Other contending teams are hoping to pry Kevin Durant away from the Nets. So far, it looks like Brooklyn will not move on from their superstar forward. If that's the case, the Nets will need someone to step up with Irving out of the picture. The Nets will give Simmons every opportunity to flourish.

The Nets will host the Phoenix Suns tonight at the Barclays Center. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm/ET.
