'Bro I hate this dude' - 3-time Super Bowl MVP applauds Payton Pritchard for his 2nd buzzer-beater vs. Mavericks
NFL star Patrick Mahomes didn't hold back with his thoughts on Boston Celtics' Payton Pritchard after he beat the buzzer before halftime of Game 5. The Dallas Mavericks are in trouble as they trail the Celtics 67-46 at the half. The momentum was already on Boston's side but Pritchard's last-second shot made the Mavs' situation more difficult.
The Celtics came into Game 5 with a mission to end the NBA Finals on their home floor. They capitalized on making the defense pay with how they shot their threes. After the first two quarters, Boston has registered 47.6% of their shots from beyond the arc.
As the game headed into halftime, the Celtics were already up big. Pritchard added insult to injury with his last-second shot from past the halfcourt mark. The crowd erupted after his shot went in and his teammates were pumped. However, Mahomes wasn't a fan of the shot and shared his honest thoughts on social media.
"Bro i hate this dude 😂😂😂😂😂" Mahomes said.
Mahomes has rooted for the Mavs during the Finals as he was born and grew up in Texas. He was in attendance at the American Airlines Arena during Game 3 of the series.
During the first four games of the series, Pritchard has not contributed much on the offensive end. In Game 1 and 3, he didn't score a point. However, he had three points in Game 2 and 11 points in Game 4. The backup point guard is averaging 3.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and two assists during the series.
In Game 2, he beat the buzzer after the third quarter.

NBA stars react to Payton Pritchard's shot
The crowd went wild after Payton Pritchard made his ridiculous shot from beyond half-court. Even stars like Trae Young and Paolo Banchero were in shock at what the point guard did to end the first half.
"I called that Payton Pritchard shot🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he really be making those!" Young said.
"Pritchard legendary it’s stamped🤯" Banchero gave his stamp of approval of the shot.
Pritchard has made smart shots throughout the NBA Playoffs and is aware that the stars of the team are the ones who will do most of the scoring. The point guard has helped control the pace against the Mavs while Jrue Holiday and Derrick White are on the bench.
With how Pritchard has contributed, there's a chance that the Celtics will capture banner No. 18.
