Jeanie Buss praises Bronny James' work ethic
There's a lot of pressure on Bronny James ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season after the LA Lakers drafted him with the No. 55 pick. It's probably the most pressure anyone drafted in the second round will ever get, and it's because he's the son of the legendary LeBron James.
A lot of scouts are skeptical about Bronny's skills to succeed in the NBA, but the Lakers loved what they saw and took him. LeBron and Bronny are about to share the court next season, which will make them the first father-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time.
Despite what critics and haters are saying about the 19-year-old guard, Lakers president Jeanie Buss praised him for his hard work. Bronny has been putting in the hours in the offseason to improve and possibly get a crack at the rotation by training camp.
"We have to let the kid have an opportunity to play and prove that he should be in a Laker uniform. And everything that we’ve seen from him and about him and his work ethic, just some of the things he’s had to overcome being the son of a big star.
"He works hard, he’s dedicated. He really wants to do this. And if we can have a roster of players with that same mentality, then I think the sky is the limit," Buss said on 'Petros and Money' on AM 570. [H/T Lakers Nation]
The Lakers' media day is scheduled for Sept. 30, and training camp begins on Oct. 1 with the team's first preseason game three days later.
