“Bronny James on Lakers”, “Darvin Ham” - Fans draw multiple NBA parallels for Kamala Harris after she comes up short vs Donald Trump
Republican candidate Donald Trump has once again been elected as the US President for the next four years, defeating the democratic party’s Kamala Harris in a tight presidential race. While this was a historic victory for Trump, some NBA fans took to social media to talk about what happened with the current Vice President Harris’ failed presidential bid.
In a post on X, fans came up with NBA comparisons for Harris’ presidential bid, drawing parallels on numerous basketball topics that often involved losing and mediocrity in their eyes.
“Someone explain Kamala Harris in NBA terms,” one post said.
Some of the top responses involved the likes of LeBron James’ son Bronny, Los Angeles Lakers’ former head coach Darvin Ham, and NBA’s all-time triple-double leader Russell Westbrook, all of which were the laughing stock of NBA fans in recent years.
“She Bronny James on the Lakers. Got everything laid out for them but still can’t perform,” said one fan.
“Darvin Ham,” another fan simply said.
“Westbrick,” said one fan, alluding to now Denver Nuggets’ guard Westbrook.
Other comparisons included the now-defunct Charlotte Bobcats, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the 2020 Miami Heat. These teams were known for not getting over the hump in their respective seasons in the league.
“Charlotte Bobcats bro,” said one fan.
“2020 Miami Heat,” said another fan.
“The Clippers before PG left,” said one fan.
These fans looked at Harris’ background as being the vice president of America and being endorsed by the current president, Joe Biden, who withdrew his election bid a few months back. Harris was the first woman to be named the Vice President in the country’s history.
Meanwhile, Trump will return to the White House following his first team in 2016 to 2020. Trump lost to Biden in a similarly close presidential race in the pandemic-stricken 2020 elections.
NBA’s top superstars LeBron James and Steph Curry endorsed Kamala Harris ahead of presidential elections
During the campaign period, NBA superstars LeBron James and Steph Curry stated their support for democrat Kamala Harris against Donald Trump.
Steph Curry was the first to announce his endorsement for Harris, saying she would unite the US if elected president.
“What a great honor it was to represent Team USA and go out there and win that gold medal at the Olympics this summer," Curry said in his video speech in the Democratic National Convention in August, a few weeks removed from his Paris Olympics stint.
"That unity on and off the court reminded us all that together, we can do all things and continue to inspire the world. That's why I believe that Kamala as president can bring that unity back and continue to move our country forward."
Meanwhile, James announced his endorsement last Nov. 1, posting on X about his choice for the presidency and urging voters to pick her on election day.
“What are we even talking about here?? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!," James wrote.
Trump got support from Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac and the Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who congratulated him after his successful presidential bid.
