Bronny James reacts to his best Summer League game in Lakers outfit and first-made 3-pointer: "I just try to forget about all the shots I missed"

LA Lakers rookie Bronny James had his best game in the NBA Summer League on Wednesday in an 87-86 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. He was just happy that he finally got it going.

The 55th overall pick in this year's NBA Draft scored a Summer League-high of 12 points, on 5-of-11 shooting. He also scored his first-made 3-pointer in the tournament and went 2-of-5 from deep in 24 minutes of play.

In the post-game interview following the Lakers' first victory in the Las Vegas Summer League, Bronny James expressed his excitement over finally breaking out offensively. The 19-year-old son of Lakers superstar LeBron James said:

"Good outcome, good outcome. I just forget about all the shots I missed, forgetting about the games we lost.
"I just come out and put my game and try to give my best every time I come out on the floor. That's what I did tonight and ended up well. Really felt good (to see that first three finally go down). Yeah, yeah."

Check out what he had to say below:

Before breaking out on offense against the Hawks, Bronny James was averaging five points on 21.1% shooting and missed all his 11 3-point attempts. He also posted four rebounds and a steal in 26 minutes of play for the Lakers (1-2).

James, who played one season for the USC Trojans in college, is set to make NBA history by playing alongside his superstar-dad for the 2024-25 season as the first father-son duo to do so.

Bronny James looking forward to rookie season with the Lakers

Bronny James is working his way into shape in the NBA Summer League. He's looking forward to playing in his rookie season with the LA Lakers regardless of what role is given to him.

The 19-year-old guard out of USC is set to realize his goal of playing in the NBA after being selected in the second round, 55th overall, by the Lakers in this year's rookie draft. To make it all the more special, he gets to share the court with his illustrious father LeBron James.

Bronny James shared his thoughts on his first year playing in the NBA and what his expectations are as the NBA Summer League got under way in Las Vegas:

"I'm just looking forward to any basketball, no matter what level I'm playing at."

Bronny James's decision to declare for the NBA this season was met with a lot of doubts following an uneventful season in college with the USC Trojans. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists on a 36.6% shooting clip in 19.4 minutes of play in 25 games.

James, however, is determined to see his dream of becoming an NBA player and vowed to put in the work as he moves along in his journey.
