Bronny James Stats Tonight: LeBron James' son enjoys best game as a Laker in Summer League outing vs. Hawks
Bronny James rebounded nicely after a highly criticized performance against the Boston Celtics on Monday. LeBron James Jr. finished that game with two points on 1-for-5 shooting, including 0-for-3 from deep. Two of his misses from behind the arc were air balls.
Bronny had a much better game against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday. He started 3-for-3 before finishing with a 4-for-6 clip in the first half. James finally made his first 3-pointer as an NBA player. He is now 1-for-17 outside rainbow distance in Summer League games.
Bronny James had the most productive stretch of his career in the pros. He finished the first half against the Hawks with nine points, one rebound and one turnover. The second-round pick also had a highlight up-and-under layup in traffic that earned the applause of fans at Thomas & Mack Center.
The LA Lakers rookie also earned the first technical foul of his NBA career in the third quarter. After a drive to the basket that ended up with him losing the ball off his knee, the former USC Trojan said something that the referee didn't like.
James got only a few looks at the basket in the third frame. He missed both of his attempts and is now 1-for-18 in 3-pointers. The athletic guard couldn't add to his tally in the said quarter.
Bronny James didn't score in the second half until he hit another 3-pointer with a little under four minutes left in the game. It was a big-time shot that tied the game 79-79.
In the LA Lakers' 87-86 win over the Atlanta Hawks, he had 12 points, one rebound and one steal. James made 5-of-11 shots, making 2-of-5 attempts from deep.
Celebrity trainer Chris Brickley claims Bronny James is “an NBA player”
Celebrity trainer Chris Brickley had this to say about the younger James’ status in an interview with Fox News:
"I think he's an NBA player. I think he's athletic enough. I think he can shoot it well enough," Brickley said.
“I've seen him work out twice. He shot it as well as a majority of NBA players shoot it. He handles it the same way, as far as ballhandling, NBA players do. His IQ is very good. I think he'll have a long NBA career. I truly, truly believe that,” he added.
LA Lakers fans will be hoping Brickley is right. Despite the so-so Summer League campaign so far, they will look forward to seeing Bronny James join his father LeBron James in a competitive NBA game next season.
